Delphi, one of the most picturesque villages near Arachova, is a mountainside archaeological complex that contains the remains of the sanctuaries of Apollo.

The first stop of the Delphi day trip is the traditional village of Arachova. The next stop is the Archaeological Site of Delphi, which is located in the southwestern spur of Mount Parnassos. Delphi, formerly also called Pytho, is the ancient sanctuary that grew rich as the seat of Pythia, the oracle who was consulted about important decisions throughout the ancient classical world. The ancient Greeks considered the centre of the world to be in Delphi, marked by the stone monument known as the omphalos (navel). The location is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, having had a great influence in the ancient world.

PRIVATE TRIP FROM ATHENS TO NAFPLIO

Nafplio is an amazing seaport city located in the Peloponnese. The town was the capital of the First Hellenic Republic and of the Kingdom of Greece, from the start of the Greek Revolution in 1821 until 1834.

After two-hour drive, you will be able to discover Nafplio, a romantic city of great history. You can explore Palamidi fortress, which was built by Venetians in 1686. Climbing up 900 plus steps to the top of this historic fortress is worth the stunning view. You can also visit the Bourtzi Fortress, the Venetian fortress that seems to float in the middle of the sea, by taking a taxi boat. Or you can simply admire the old buildings of the town, dating back two hundred or so years.
